When the Audacious Lipstick line launched, I didn’t pay much attention. Ugh, how ignorant of me. I did however catch a glimpse of the name Barbara. Now, that I’ve analysed the line more closely Anna, Leslie, Marlene and Vanessa look equally lovely but Barbara was my first choice. Too bad there actually isn’t an Audacious lipstick named after me but if anything, this is the closest. Read: Barbara is my favourite name.
Nars accurately describes it as a tan rose. Again, it’s along that 90s vibe that I’m loving but it’s less mauve and more brown. In fact, Nars Barbara is one of those versatile lipsticks that will work either you’re wearing a smokey eye or no makeup at all. It’s a very sophisticated nude with a hint of pink.
Let’s talk the formula. It’s incredible. The lightest swipe gives you full pigment. It feels light on the lips and has a lovely natural finish. And not only is it comfortable to wear and lasts hours, it wears off very evenly and leaves your lips moisturised. No peeling and dryness. And of course, I love the sleek packaging as well. The magnetic closure is very satisfying. I won’t be exaggerating too much if I say this is my all-time favourite lipstick. Have you tried the Nars Audacious lipsticks? Which are your favourite shades? I sure do need to try out more!
