I feel like there is this weird thing about beauty blogging that makes you fall in love with neutral makeup. Or maybe it’s just the 90s trend but I have fallen for it. I find it sort of hard to believe that I thought brown eyeshadows, bronzer and dark nude lipsticks didn’t suit me. Now, I go to the Mac counter, apply Honeylove and it’s like I was born to wear this colour.
But it’s actually a real story. Sadly, Honeylove was sold out but I did initially only ran out to get Groundwork right after both Anna and Tamira mentioned it in their July Favourites. It’s just the most beautiful warm medium brown shade. And it’s matte. I feel like it might even be very similar to Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes in Taupe, not as long-wearing though.
Ramble over. Let’s get on with the tutorial.
Face: Are you bored yet? It’s the same. Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream in Fair applied all over, Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer in Fair Neutral under my eyes and swept Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish in Fair all over the face to set it in place. And here’s a twist. My new love. I’m sculpting my face with the Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra, using it under my cheekbones, on the temples and along the jaw. For a bit of somethin’ somethin’ on the cheek itself, I dabbed on a bit of my Chanel Le Blush Creme in Cheeky and I hear the Chanel Les Beiges Stick in No. 20 is pretty close.
Eyes: Minimal but a bit grungy. I’m smudging Mac Prolongwear Paint Pot in Groundwork all over the eyelid and topping it off with Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Camel, I had to find a dupe for Mac Prolongwear Eye Shadow in Uninterrupted and this does the trick. The almost mustardy tone of it is surprisingly flattering! Along the lashline and in the waterline I run Mac Eye Kohl in Costa Riche, a stunning dark brown with a red undertone. Plus it is extremely easy to run on your waterline! Then I just smudged some Camel along the lower lashline. I always want to go lower but I just can’t. Mascara is Benefit They’re Real in Beyond Brown. Can’t believe I actually got a Benefit product but I wasn’t too offended by the packaging. Eyebrows are Mac Pro Longwear Brow Set in Red Chestnut, still haven’t got the hang of the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil.
Lips: Keeping with the honey hue vibe, I’m applying Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Hepburn Honey. Shock horror, I’m liking a lipstick that’s more sheeny in finish but the tone is gorgeous. All hail, CT.
Earthy tones. Terra, Groundwork… Get it? Totally inspired by my hair colour, it would be awesome on redheads but really, equally flattering on all skin tones. Anyway, I hope you like the look as much as I do. I have so been loving these nude looks this year!
[…] featured this cream shadow in my Earthy Toned Tutorial and it might not look like much in the pot but some days it’s all you need. I mean, you […]

Omigod I have the same problem with lipsticks! No colour would look good on me >.< just recently this year I started finding shades that compliment me. So far lipliners work better than lipsticks, lipsticks need more convincing so I can make them work on my face.

I have a lipstick and if you told I would like it on me a year ago, I wouldn’t believe. The very same lipstick I’m now obsessed with.
Yas! I deal with the same exact crap! I don’t understand what happens but something happens XD All tones of lipsticks looked ugly on me now I can wear even red O.O
Sorry I meant the Charlotte Tilbury Lippie ha! Uhh tired.com
No worries. I’m obsessed with both. Definitely try them on, you never know what you might like. X
Yes will do thanks 😊 x
Those nudes look fab on you! Im very wary of nudes too. Find that they wash me out. Will have to see what honey love looks like. Thanks x
I love the eyeshadow ♡
