I normally am the first person to look forward to autumn but somehow this year, I can’t believe it’s here. I’m living in a weird limbo right now. Anyhow, I thought I might bring to you a bit of autumn edit that’s very simple to achieve when all you want to do in the morning is wrap yourself in the cosiest throw of life and keep on dreaming.
I’ve had a little encounter with Givenchy Makeup recently. Read: I’m basically expert on their whole line now. By the way, check out their Vinyl A/W collection. I haven’t heard anybody talk it about it but it’s honestly the dreamiest thing ever. I’m struggling inside whether or not I should pick up Rouge Acajou… Now, onto the tutorial, I was kindly given the sample of their new Teint Couture Balm. I didn’t expect to like it because per usual, the makeup artist screwed it up (face caked on, eyes creased in five minutes) but as I sat down at home and put it on with my Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face brush, I fell in love. I have the shade 3 Nude Sand which seems to be the lightest HoF stocks and since it’s that beauty balm texture, it works. It has a funny claim of skin blurring but let me tell you it’s true. I will probably end up picking up the full size. Then I only went in my Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Bisque as I have a horrid dry patch under my eye and this along with Bobbi’s Eye Cream is the only thing that hides it. I then finished it off with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light and ran a bit extra down the bridge of my nose for some highlight. Blush is Hourglass Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure. I’ve been reaching for it quite recently plus the plum tone goes perfectly with the autumn theme.
Givenchy ramble done. It was supposed to be a quick look so I’m just running Kiko Eyeshadow Stick in Rosy Brown all over my eyelids and then blending the edges. Mascara is Benefit They’re Real in Beyond Brown and brows are Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Auburn. On the lips, I went with Mac Honeylove. There are probably more autumnal shades out there but I’m saving them for coming tutorial so stay tuned!
You might note that the Kiko shade is somehow reminiscent of Chanel New Moon but it lacks the copper tone of New Moon and it more of a metallic finish. I love the fact it looks like I’ve applied at least three eyeshadows though! So if you’ll excuse me another use of one of the four lipsticks that have been on rotation in my stash, I shall see you with a new post on Wednesday!
