Shades of Nude Lipsticks

Nars Barbara, Urban Decay 1993, Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey, Mac HoneylovePeople keep telling me they like how my makeup matches my hair colour but I swear I’m not doing it on purpose. I’d love a red every now and then but they all just look too bright against my skin. So obviously, it’s basically been these five lipsticks on rotation for the past few months. They will certainly not come as a surprise if you’ve read some of my previous posts but here you go anyway.Nars Barbara, Urban Decay 1993, Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey, Mac Honeylove

the caramel vibe Charlotte Tilbury Hepburn Honey – I debated getting this one for a while because for some reason, I associate sheeny lipsticks with sheer lipsticks but this one packs on the pigment. Not as intensely as the Nars Audacious but I’m pleasantly surprised. Other thing I feared is it being too light but it’s a medium honey toned nude and I reckon this would look absolutely brilliant on all skin tones.Nars Barbara

the 1990s vibe Nars Barbara – for obvious reasons, 1993 would give off that vibe but Barbara is just a bit more subtle against fair skin. Accurately described as a tan rose, it adds a light brown tone with a hint of rose to make it more wearable. I’ve got a whole post dedicated to it so I won’t repeat myself and you can check it out if you like.Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria

the natural vibe Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria – this one is so close to my natural lip colour that it’s no surprise I’ve been wearing it like crazy since I got it. I’m still amazed with how lightweight the formula and yet you still get the stunning matte finish. I find Very Victoria quite hard to describe but it’s a sort of rosy taupe.

Mac Honeylovethe beige vibe MAC Honeylove – I personally think Honeylove is the perfect nude for light skin tones. It’s just nude without any of those unnecessary peach or pink undertones which certainly do not look flattering on me. Because my lips are naturally a warm pink this adds the medium beige layer that just goes so perfect with my complexion.Urban Decay 1993

the brown vibe Urban Decay 1993 – it sorts of reminds me of Nars Deborah which I’m lusting over but I digress. Another Matte Revolution formula and this one is one equally revolutionary. The deal is it goes on as creamy as a lip balm (it even has that shape which by the way, makes it bit tricky to apply) but you get the pigment of a matte lipstick. Magic. And the brown lips are my obsession now.

Apologies for bombarding you with all the photographs of me wearing all those shades of nude but perhaps it might be helpful to some of you. What are you favourite browny nude lipsticks? Which ones are you dying to try? You know, I like a recommendation.

  1. Awesome post! Love these colors! Will have try them! I always have such a hard time finding ones with good formula that also look good with my skin tone. I think I am going to try the MAC Honeylove!
