In all honesty, my YouTube subscription box has exploded with festive makeup looks and they’re all either red lip gold eye or black smokey eye so this feels sort of repetitive but it does have a bit of a twist on the classic because a) I hate gold eyeshadows b) I hate bright red lipsticks on me. Oh, so much negativity but I do love a muted red.
I’m using Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10 again just to even out my skin, then Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Bisque under my eyes and setting it all with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. On the my cheeks I used Nars Blush in Douceur and then added a bit of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold on tops of my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. This doesn’t really work as highlighter on my skin but it still adds a bit of glow.
For the eyes, I started off applied Becca Rose Gold all over my eyelids. Bit multi-use there. Then we’re getting all sentimental as I’m using my first ever eyeshadow and I don’t think they even make this colour anymore. I took Sephora Jumbo Liner in Copper, draw a line in my socket and in my outer v and then blended it with Mac 217. Surprisingly, it looked pretty good. To finish it off, I used a sample of Mac False Lashes Mascara in Extreme Black (oh, if only they made it in brown) and then to add some definition, I smudged Makeup Geek Frappe along my lower lashline.
I once called this lipstick my perfect red and even though I don’t wear it very often, once I do it does sort of make me feel like a 1930s femme fatale (says me and then proceeds to wear a leather top). The lipstick in question is Mac Lipstick in Chili and you could use a lip pencil but I don’t think Mac Matte formula needs it.
I hope you liked the look and I’ll see you in my next post on Wednesday!
