Rolling Project Pan Update

It’s been over a month since I officially committed to my first Project Pan and I’ve already got things to report. I’ve learnt that I am impatient after all but also rediscovered some product loves. Seeing I have finished or decided to declutter some of the products, I figured an update was due. Not entirely sure if rolling out a majority of the products is a good start but I suppose it’s my inexperience with project panning that made me pick products that weren’t necessarily feasible for me to use up and at least enjoy using.

Carryover Products

Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream in Fair – Use Up

I’m nowhere near finished with this but I have managed to use it a few times which is more than I’ve been doing for months. Again, I like the product but rarely have enough time to apply in the morning and because it is quite a bit darker than my skin, I need some time to blend it in.

Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette – Hit Pan on Two Shades

I have used this most days and definitely enjoyed it. I’ve focused my use on the middle shade which developed a sizable dent as well as the darkest shade but because of how little you use this has little visible progress. I have used the other shades in small doses but overall this palette reigns as a favourite.

Mac Eyeshadow in Sable – ‘Re-Expand’ The Pan

I have used it about five times during the month in conjunction with the Becca palette and still love the shade to bits but find myself reaching for all matte looks. I used it more than I would have otherwise and after smooshing the shattered product into the pan I’m starting to see the pan again .

Nars Walkyrie and other products additions, see below

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie – Use Up

I have been majorly focusing on my other lip product so this has little progress and the reason why it misses out is that in order to get the precision I want, I will have to sharpen every two days (I reapply about three times a day).

ROLL OUT

Empties – Nars Barbara. Barry M Powder, Chanel Ambre Dore and Grenat

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly – I couldn’t believe how long this concealer has lasted and I’m pretty sure it was about to go off. You definitely get loads of product in and admittedly I have used it all over the face as foundation on the weekends just to speed up the process. I definitely abused the product but I daresay I got as much out of it as I could.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure -I exclusively own neutral blushers and this one ranks the lowest out of all of them so I have finally decided to pass it on to my mum who isn’t too fussy with makeup. I find this doesn’t last as well as my other blushers and has a tendency to look patchy. Because of how soft the powder is, I hate to swirl the product and that always leads to uneven distribution of colour. This is one of the marble designs that looks much better in the pan than it does on the skin.

Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit – I included this because I was about to finish my Chanel powder and wanted to buy some time before I chose which one to go for next. I used the light shade here and while it worked fine. The pan was small and I used about half of it but since it was getting difficult to pick the product with my powder brush, I had a bit a makeup breakup fun with it and swirled it until it died. Wasteful, yes but at least, it won’t waste my time anymore. I only bought the palette for the red brown shade but the formula on these is a sort of powdery matte that feels creamy but applies powdery and fades quickly on the skin.  I have retired the bronzers to a palette for the time being. Bad one to pick for panning but I can’t bear to part with the colour yet.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Ambre Dore – I’ve rediscovered my love for this product and now again think my makeup in complete without this in the waterline. Oh I wish Chanel came out with more of these light bronzes liners! After the first week, I’ve used it five days a week.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Grenat – because of how stiff the formula was this broke on me one day and again I had a bit of makeup break with the remaining product. I’m certain Chanel has a similar colour in the line now which has the formula of Ambre Dore but this was tugging on my eyes and I’m glad it’s gone.

Nars Audacious Lipstick in Barbara– this is hands down my favourite lipstick because it does absolutely everything. I am done with the bullet but have depotted the rest of the product to use at home. If I didn’t have a backup of Charlotte TIlbury Very Victoria, I would repurchase instantly but it will be greatly missed.

ROLL IN

Barry M Bronzer, L’Oreal Irresistable Expresso, Nars St Paul de Vence, Chanel Cheeky

Chanel Cream Blush in Cheeky – I have quite little left in the pan but haven’t used it for a while. Partly because I had it in my bag for ages and used the compact as a mirror. The consistency of this has changed but I’m obsessed with the colour and would love to get some more use out of it.

Nars Eyeshadow Duo St Paul de Vence – I think introducing a third eyeshadow might be a bit over an overkill but before starting the project, I’ve been desperately trying to hit pan on the pinky brown and it finally happened. I put it away months back scared of hitting the pan and now I couldn’t be more thrilled. Not sure how this will effect my progress on Ombre Rouge and Sable but I’ll happily use it and hopefully make a dent in the peach as well.

T-B: Chanel Ardent, MAC Sable, Nars St Paul de Vence

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Ardent – I meant it when I said makeup is incomplete without a waterliner. This is a deeper and more coppery version of Ambre Dore which means I can use it on my topline as well. I have heaps of product left so it will tie me over for months.

L’Oreal Caresse Lipstick in Irresistable Expresso [sic] – I love this colour, I love the sheerness of the colour but the texture is very balmy and glossy and I’m used to matte lipsticks. I figured if I target this, the reapplication alone might speed up the process and it goes beautiful with Mac Whirl.

L-R: Nars Walkyrie, L’Oreal Irresistable Expresso, MAC Whirl, Chanel Ardent

Mac Lip Pencil in Whirl – I never use lip liners because I’m yet to find a creamy one. I was initially set on Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude but it’s painful to apply. I probably would have been better off waiting for the lipstick to launch because I love the colour but that tells you how long I’ve had it. I don’t expect to finish this any time soon would like to start applying in the morning on most days of the week.

As I read back from through post, I realise I’ve been a bit scattered putting this together so for more background, feel free to read my Project Introduction. Now, I have technically only used up three products and swapped three others but the past month has definitely been a lesson in patience and I’m gad I finally made up my mind on Mood Exposure because I don’t think it’s normal that a makeup product evoke such strong feelings.
