Aside from my current makeup brush obsession, I have finished of a couple of makeup products recently and found myself watching a lot of full face Glossier and Milk makeup looks videos. Now, I tried to keep things contained and frankly not everything in the ranges appeals to me but I’ve been having a bit of a play with the products I got.
My current base is Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturiser in Finland and I don’t really know how I feel about it. I just wish there was a shade lighter than Finland but maybe I’m still transitioning from using Chanel Les Beiges Foundation. Now the Milk Flex Concealer in Porcelain is a bit of a highlight because of the shade range. It is the perfect match for my skin tone with medium coverage and even wear throughout the day. I apply the tinted moisturiser with the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush and the concealer with the Full Coverage Touch Up Brush and pat off the excess with my finger.

The next step is a bit of a mixed bag. I’m not a cream blush wearer but there is something about the marketing of the Glossier Cloud Paints that I couldn’t resist any longer. I got the shade Dusk, brownish nude and Storm, warm rose as per Glossier description. I find Dusk is a bit too orange for my liking and Storm is slightly too pink on its own but they mix well together for a dusty rose cheek. These must be applied with fingers on unpowdered skin and so I do and then set the rest of my face with Chanel Poudre Universelle in Clair.

The cream eyeshadows in both ranges don’t appeal to me so I’m simply using my Project Pan shadow, Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in New Moon all over the lids. Being a copper liner obsessive, I naturally found myself drawn to the new Glossier Colorslide in Pretty Penny. The colour is reddish toned copper with silver glitter and dark brown base but the formula is quite waxy which isn’t my favourite. I run it across my top lash line and then finish off with the Elf x Jkissa Mascara which is in fact the reddish brown mascara that no brand makes. It’s actually a darker and warmer version of my MAC Browset in Red Chestnut and compared to all brown/burgundy mascaras I’ve used in the past, this coats the lashes with colour the best but doesn’t really do much for defining them.
Lastly, the old favourite on the lips. Glossier Generation G in Leo is one I’ve had for a while and it’s a good one for when you don’t want to wear lipstick. The formula is thin on the lips but the browny tones of Leo simply take out the pink in my lips and add a slight warmth which I definitely prefer to my natural lip colour.

This is definitely a more natural face and lip makeup I’m used to and let’s just say I’m still not seeing the benefits of cream blush yet but I am definitely liking the colours of Dusk and Storm. The Milk concealer is definitely a big favourite and I’d be keen to try more from Milk Makeup – what are your recommendations?
