BB Cream Done Right

Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream Fair 01, Dior Bar, Hourglass Luminous Bronze Light, Chanel RaffinementI’ve been eyeing Burberry Makeup for the longest time. Earthy blush is always on my list as it’s supposed to be a great contour type shade for pale girls but every time I go to purchase it, it’s sold out. Eventually, I ended up purchasing the Fresh Glow BB Cream since I was in the market for a new easy-to-wear base.

DSC00118I will start of by saying that Burberry packaging is beautiful. The BB cream comes in a lovely tube with a cap embellished with the classic Burberry print. What’s brilliant is that it has a pump which makes the application so much easier as you don’t add end up with a bunch of product oozing out (hint hint, Bourjois CC cream).

DSC00129The Fresh Glow BB cream claims luminous skin perfecting finish. Additionally, it has an SPF of 20 and the shade Fair, although looks a bit dark to begin with, does blend in perfectly. It only comes in three shades but they seem to adapt. To cover my face I use up two pumps and I prefer to spread it with a brush because the texture is like weird mix of cream and standard liquid foundation.

You cannot see it on the skin and it will blend over any dry patches, it’s really forgiving in that sense. Of course, the coverage is light and I certainly need concealer under my eyes but I do actually prefer that because you have a fresh look all over but then just build up coverage with a concealer where you need to. Also, my skin is quite hard to work with and heavier bases look plain awful. I did wear it for 10+ in the horrid heat and humidity and it does in fact stick around. I prefer to set it with a powder (an updated foundation routine coming up next week) but it does maintain the glow yet never looking overly oily. I would say it might be better for normal to dry skin as it won’t matify but rather provide the luminosity. And in terms of that glow, it’s more lumious than something like Dior Nude Air foundation and a lot easier to work with.

Have you tried this BB cream or anything else from the Burberry makeup line? What are you favourites? And what’s your go-to base product this summer?

P.S. The dark circles are partly to blame on eight hours of work so yup.
