Updated Makeup Inventory – Category and Cost Analysis

I first posted my makeup inventory analysis last March but there have been a lot of changes in my collection since then which served as an excuse for me to spend a day playing with Tableau. For the most part, I’ll follow last year’s template to go through this but if you have any other ideas on how to make this more insightful, please let me know. I’m definitely into analytics and updating this inventory definitely helped me get a better overview of my collection and pinpoint some problem areas. Makeup Inventory – Category and Cost Analysis

Did I mention that I have a slight compulsion towards spreadsheets? And while I have used one to track my wardrobe inventory last year, I finally decided to pull one together for my makeup collection. I feel like to some extent ‘makeup inventory’ is just the new makeup collection concept but it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t let some of my work analysis creep into this. Like my wardrobe inventory, I have Excel spreadsheet set up for every single makeup product I own but in no way will I be able to track cost per wear, nor do I find it necessary. For the purpose of this post, I have focused on yearly spending, category breakdown and threw in a brand diagram as a bonus. Rolling Project Pan Update #2

To be completely honest, I have frequent mood swings in regards to this project and frankly, I just wish you’d see progress on powder products quicker but looking back at the three months of formal project panning, I definitely played with makeup more than I have for a while. Some discoveries have been made in that I’ve been quite successful panning lipsticks and pencil products, don’t mind using the same eyeshadow despite minimal progress but struggle quite a bit with face products so I will probably keep those to a minimum from now on (says while she rolls in a baked blush). Rolling Project Pan Update

It’s been over a month since I officially committed to my first Project Pan and I’ve already got things to report. I’ve learnt that I am impatient after all but also rediscovered some product loves. Seeing I have finished or decided to declutter some of the products, I figured an update was due. Not entirely sure if rolling out a majority of the products is a good start but I suppose it’s my inexperience with project panning that made me pick products that weren’t necessarily feasible for me to use up and at least enjoy using. Project Pan Introduction Feat. Nars, Hourglass and More

At this point, I frequently ponder how much of the makeup I own I will actually be able to use up and how much of it will go to waste. While I have recently added new products to my line up and there is definitely a few cheek products that I still find tempting, giving away some of the products I wasn’t using recently combined with my new habit of watching Project Pan updates while I get ready in the morning, I figured a blog post would a great way to document my own progress. Admittedly, I haven’t really looked into the rules of the project if there are any but I will run you through the goals I am setting for myself and what my current progress is.
