First of all, I am terribly sorry to have missed Friday’s post but here it finally is. The past few days have just been crazy but I’m hoping to be back on track on Wednesday! Now onto the cream shadow in question.
I’m not one to go for all shimmery eye looks but once in a while I wake up and those eye blender brushes don’t look very inviting. Those days I used pull out Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze but while it’s an easy eye look, it’s certainly not my favourite. Then last year, Chanel launched New Moon as a limited edition shade. I thought it’d be the perfect everyday shade. And behold because Chanel is repromoting this beauty in their Les Automnales collection (that one I mentioned before was gorgeous)!
I guess, it’s a little bit over the top but is it effective. I’m a bit on the fence with this product though! I love the reddish copper shade but it looks so glittery that I don’t reach for it very often. Then when I do and look in the mirror, it doesn’t look like a disco ball. It reflects the light in the most beautiful way and has very flattering warm tone to it while still being everyday appropriate. I’m possibly enchanted by the base colour of this shadow because it is exactly the kind of shade that I would wear everyday. Bring out a matte version, Chanel, pretty please.
Sadly, even if the glitter does look stunning on the eye, it doesn’t look good under. I prefer to apply Chanel Illusion d’Ombres with a brush because the texture is more bouncy as opposed to a standard cream shadow. But I find New Moon impossible to apply with a brush – the glitter ends up all over my cheeks. And it sticks around, you cannot wipe it off. I braced myself and used my fingertips. It did the trick, however, I still noticed some fallout throughout the day. It’s rather odd because not everyone seems to have this issue with this eyeshadow. Yet mine’s not dried out or anything like that, it’s always been this way.

However, once I get over that, let me tell you, the longevity is incredible. I have very oily eyelids and this holds up all day without a primer. Long-lasting but not ridiculously claiming 24-hour wear like the Maybelline one which significantly fades by the end of the day. This one doesn’t. The colour’s there, the glitter’s there, no creasing or fading whatsoever. Add the fact that I really love the shade, the dimensional finish and after all, the fallout of the Urban Decay Naked 3 shadows is certainly more annoying.
Have you tried New Moon? Or have you missed it last summer and regretted ever since? I say run and buy it! Embrace the glitter. I’m too in love with this shade to not do so!
This looks amazing, looks so great on you! Definitely regret not buying it before- might have to make an online order!! xoxo

Fantastic color – especially on you. Love how it matches your hair.
It sort of does I guess! Thank you! X
