Birthday Makeup Tutorial

Chanel Raffinement, Nars Dolomites, Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, Mad Red Chestnut, Hourglass Mood Exposure

It was my birthday yesterday and that calls for Moët & Chandon, Ninotchka and general relaxation mode. How fun but then what did you expect on a Monday? Last year, I went to Reichstag and a guy almost crushed me with a door so it was kind of nicer this time round.

Of course, I had to also dress up all black everything and makeup all fancy so I thought I’d share. I feel like this look was just so me. The eyes are neutral but they’ve got a bit of purple undertone and the lip is a nice dark nude with a hint of mauve.

Face: I used the Burberry Fresh Glow BB in Fair. I’m still loving that fact that you cannot see it on the skin but it evens it out. Light bases all the way. Concealer is still the same Urban Decay Naked Skin in Fair Neutral. Luckily, all my breakouts have healed so I just ran it under the eye, nose and between my eyebrows. I applied both using the Bobbi Brown Face Coverage Face brush. I set my whole face with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder in Fair. Damn, all the shades are called ‘fair’. The blush is what in my mind is to replace Chanel Accent. I took the Hourglass Ambient blush in Mood Exposure more on the backs of my cheeks than anything else.

Eyes: I don’t even know how I did my makeup without these two eye palettes and they’re both technically gone but Tissé Rivoli is a dupe of Chanel Raffinement and the last time I checked you could still order Dolomites on the Nars website. Back to the look, I ran the reddish brown from the Dolomites in the socket and on the lower lashline and then applied the lilac all over the eyelid. Switching to Raffinement, I took the darkest aubergine on a pencil brush messily smudging it at the lashline and then with the lightest beige I highlighted the inner corner. Final touches: a coat of Dior Iconic Overcurl in Over Brun (I am so not a lashy person) and Chanel Ambre Doré in the waterline, I like how that added a bit of warmth of the look. On the brows, I used the Mac Pro Longwear Brow Set in Red Chestnut.

Lips: I was initially going to use Chanel Aura because its number is my birthday year but since I wanted it to last a bit longer, I chose Urban Decay Glide-On lip pencil in Liar and Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Very Victoria over the top.

Nails: I won’t be showing you my manicure but I did, of course, wear my beloved Chanel Exception. The red chestnut shade is to die for and the formula is excellent!

C’est fin! I hope you like the look and I’ll see you soon.
